THE AWARD FOR THE MOST
ESTEEMED SOMMELIER

The SOMMEST is a special prize created by Zonin1821 and approved by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale: it goes to a sommelier who, in addition to having the expertise and wine culture that are
synonymous with the ASI, is also particularly elegant, empathetic, witty and sociable. He or she has a broad knowledge of the wine world, gained through hard work and selfsacrifice, and is always ready to share this with others.

Sommeliers participating in ASI’s major competitions worldwide elect the winner of the SOMMEST award from among their fellow candidates. Fundamentally, SOMMEST is given to the sommelier most esteemed by their peers. In fact, the trophy’s name is the combination of the two words “sommelier” and “esteemed”.
